What's New With Pace West P.T.
Welcome our newest
team member, Christine!
Pace West Physical Therapy warmly welcomes a new team member, Christine Lamb. Christine's undergraduate education was completed at North Carolina State University where she received her bachelors degree in Nutrition Science. She then went on to graduate school at Pima Medical Institute in Denver, CO where she acquired her Physical Therapy Assistant degree. She graduated as valedictorian and began working as a PT Aide in an outpatient orthopedic clinic. During this time, she volunteered in nursing facilities, sports rehab clinics, and at-home health with special needs children. Today, she coaches gymnastics and continues to expand her knowledge of physical therapy by attending classes. Recently, she completed a Joint Mobilizations course titled "Manual Therapy for the PTA." We are so happy to have her!
Let's put your cellphone
to some good use.
Pace West P.T. is thrilled to announce our new YouTube Channel! This channel allows patients to access exercises on the go! These videos will give step-by-step instructions and tutorials of our therapists demonstrating at-home therapy techniques! You no longer have to use the excuse, "I forgot how to accomplish the exercise I was assigned!!"
Here's Why We Stand Up
for What We Believe In!
In the PW P.T. clinic our staff believes in working at stand up desks to promote spinal health. Our reception work space gives us the option to have both sit down and stand capabilities thanks to the Varidesk! We switched to the Varidesk pro around one year ago and recommend it to all our patients. Heres why! A majority of workers using average office desks experience health problems. These problems are correlated with poor posture and lack of support. We encourage the stand up Varidesk so patients learn to use their own body's strength for support while working. For example, rather than slouching in a chair, try tightening your abdominal muscles to stand upright.
A letter to my supporters...
"Yes, it's true, I'm one of the owners but I have to give credit when credit is due. Some claim I started a physical therapy business just so I would have a team of health care providers to help rehab myself because I am "Colorado active" and tend to play hard. Those people wouldn't be far from the truth! Over the last 18 years my PT's at Pace West have kept me functioning in tiptop shape. After two separate shoulder labral tears (downhill mountain bike riding and park snowboarding), two lumbar disc compressions (soccer and snowboarding ...again), a cervical spine disc bulge (PT seminar of all places!!), and multiple rib fractures I'm still playing at a high-level and enjoying what Colorado and the West has to offer! The fun and active lifestyle I am able to enjoy now as I approach 50 "years young" is tribute to your fine work! From deep down in my bones, I thank you!!" -Trevor Pace
Please be a part of the extended PWPT family and share your own stories, adventures and feats on our Facebook page. It motivates and inspires us PTls and followers to see PT work done successfully working outside the clinic! From all of us here at PWPT, thanks for sharing!
